(a later post with my A1200 buildup)<\/p>\n<p>Also I have this BlizzardVisionPPC graphicscard for it.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>When installing Workbench 3.9 I was happy, but after installing Boingbag3 or PPC support my problems started. my system crashed HARD with PPC Support and after BB3 my system was very VERY unstable. And searching the net was hard. \u00a0so I sat for weeks. even took one day off from work just to fix this.. \u00a0and now.. I do have a stable system.<\/p>\n<p>my first problem was. \u00a0I HAVE NO CDROM on my Amiga. \u00a0or.. \u00a0on any PC at home actually. so I had to so all with images.<\/p>\n<p>this is a writeup of step-by-stop how I did. \u00a0it does not contain any Screenshots (for now)<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Required software:<\/p>\n<p>Kickstart 3.1 in ROM.<br \/>\n<strong>WB3.9 CD as ISO (not needed if you have a CD-Rom)<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Boingbags 1-4<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>PFS3 recomended.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>DiskImage (if mounting ISO is needed if you lack CD)<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>BPPCFix<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>BPPCFixFix (!)<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>68060.library 46.20<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>WarpUP 5.1<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Cybergraphx 4.0 CD as ISO (not needed if you have a CD-Rom)<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>CGraphx43RC6 update patch<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>CyberGL<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Warp3D<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; line-height: 1.5em;\">Hardwarewise you MUST have another PSU, the original one will NOT handle the powerrequirements. 9A on +5V is recomended. And it must be a stable 5V. Manu PSUs today gives less then +5V during load making the machine unstable. And as the motherboard is not really designed for this power you have to insert power somewhere in the middle. Like injecting it where the floppy gets its power.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Also BVision gets HOT, a active cooling fan is recomended on the permedia chip.<\/p>\n<p>so first. I always have a spare-rescue partition. this is always in FFS mode. and this is also what we need to install.<\/p>\n<p>so prepare a disk (I Prefer CF cards in an adapter) with a copy of the emergency catalog from the WB3.9 CD to a bootable FFS partition. Also download all software above un unpack in a directory if your choise.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Boot that partition.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Install \u201dDiskimage\u201d to be able to mount a ISO as a CD. Also I recomend installing PFS3 and partition and format as PFS3.\u00a0 PFS3DS (DirectScsi) is preffered. Especially when using large disks.<\/p>\n<p>Now we have to do some editing as the CD-Filesystem used default is terrible, especially for Diskimage<\/p>\n<p>Start a shell<\/p>\n<p><em>ed devs:dosdrivers\/ICD0<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Change FileSystem from<em> L:CDFilesystem<\/em> to\u00a0 <em>L:CacheCDFS<\/em><\/p>\n<p>And add:<\/p>\n<p><em>Control = \u201dMD=0 LC=2 DC=4 LFC=1\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Exit and save with ESC+x + enter<\/p>\n<p><strong>Reboot<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In the SYSTEM drawer as default (even if I prefer to install it at Tools) start DiskImageGUI<\/p>\n<p>Click on the ICD0 line and then the questionmark and choose CD-ROM instead of Direct Access -&gt; Save<\/p>\n<p>Doubleclick on the ICD0: and search for the Aos3.9 iso file.<\/p>\n<p>First prepare a partition for AOS 3.9. PFS3 recommended as filesystem, must be in the first 4GB of the disk (I would recommend in the first 2GB) with a maximum size of 4GB (I would recommend that this partition fits in the first 4GB even at the end)<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Now doubleclick on the AmigaOS3.9 icon. (WB3.9 CD)<\/p>\n<p>OS-Version3.9 -&gt; and doubleclick on \u201dOS3.9-Installation\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Choose<\/p>\n<p>\u201dOS3.9 Full installation over OS3.0 or empty HD\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Proceed<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Proceed<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Proceed<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Accept<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Proceed<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Choose partition where to install WB3.9 -&gt; <strong>Proceed<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Choose languages you want to have installed -&gt; <strong>Proceed<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Choose printers -&gt; <strong>Proceed<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Choose drivers -&gt; <strong>Proceed<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Choose keymaps -&gt; <strong>Proceed<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>You decide if you want backdrops.. I choose <strong>Yes<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&lt;copying&gt;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Proceed<\/strong> -&gt; Machine reboots. Make sure that the WB3.9 partition has highest bootpri.<\/p>\n<p>In the WB3.9 system. Install diskimage with the changes above.<\/p>\n<p><strong>You will have to copy CacheCDFS from the L dir at the rescuepartition.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Mount WB3.9 iso with the same instructions as above, it is VERY important that you mount it as CD-ROM and not Direct Access<\/p>\n<p>Start the WB3.9 installationprocess again and choose \u201dInstall Internet Software\u201d -&gt; <strong>Proceed<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Proceed<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Yes<\/strong> when asked about Gensis TCP\/IP Stack. (choose no if you will use roadshow or so)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Proceed<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Yes<\/strong> at AmiTCP: question<\/p>\n<p><strong>Proceed<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Yes<\/strong> at AWeb-Installer<\/p>\n<p><strong>Proceed<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Proceed<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Choose languages -&gt; <strong>Proceed<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Yes<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Proceed<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Proceed<\/strong> at Fixfonts<\/p>\n<p><strong>Yes<\/strong> at AmigaMail installer<\/p>\n<p><strong>Proceed<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Internetsoftware is now installed<\/p>\n<p>Now install CD-Rom driver so restart the WB3.9 installation software again.<\/p>\n<p>Choose CD-Rom driver and <strong>proceed<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Proceed<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Proceed<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Often you have only one cd, so <strong>Proceed<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Proceed<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Do what you want.. I usually say <strong>NO<\/strong> and move the CD0 to devs:dosdrivers manually later<\/p>\n<p><strong>Proceed<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Proceed<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Now you have a clean WB3.9 installation with internet software and CD-Rom driver.<\/p>\n<p>(and possability to mount ISOs etc)<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>DO NOT INSTALL ANY PPC SOFTWARE!!<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Now lets install Boingbags.<\/p>\n<p>First install Boingbag 1<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Doubleclick om \u201dInstallation\u201d for BB1<\/p>\n<p><strong>Proceed<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Proceed<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Proceed<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Proceed<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Choose languages -&gt; <strong>Proceed<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Installprogram checks for the CD. (that you have mounted)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Proceed<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Proceed<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Reboot<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Now WB3.9 BB1 is installed, lets go for BB2.<\/p>\n<p>Mount WB3.9 ISO again, it will be needed<\/p>\n<p>Click on Installation for BB2<\/p>\n<p><strong>Proceed<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Proceed<\/strong> with install (lets go for Intermediate user this time)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Proceed<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Proceed<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Proceed<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Install ROM Update<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>CD will be checked and stuff copied<\/p>\n<p><strong>Proceed<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Proceed<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Poweroff and reboot. THIS IS IMPORTANT<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>NOW we have to do some stuff. BB3 will crash totally if we do not do this.<\/p>\n<p>Put BPPCFix and BPPCFixFic into C:<\/p>\n<p>Copy 68040.library to libs:\u00a0 (This is important even if you have a 060)<\/p>\n<p>Copy 68060.library 46.20 to ram:<\/p>\n<p>Start a shell<\/p>\n<p><em>BPPCFixFix from ram:68060.library to libs:68060.library<\/em><\/p>\n<p>This patches the library so setpatch actually CAN load the library<\/p>\n<p>and:<\/p>\n<p><em>ed S:Startup-Sequence<\/em><\/p>\n<p>as first (non commented) line enter:<\/p>\n<p><em>BPPCFix install 040 &gt;NIL:<\/em><\/p>\n<p>(YES even if you have a 060)<\/p>\n<p>Esc + x + enter<\/p>\n<p>Just to verify. Do:<\/p>\n<p><em>version 68060.library<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Your result would be 46.8<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Shutdown power and reboot &lt;- IMPORTANT<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Version 68060.library would now give 46.20<\/p>\n<p>NOW we can go for BB3. As this is a non official patch, the CD is not required.<\/p>\n<p>Start \u201dInstall\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Proceed<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Proceed<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Proceed<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Proceed<\/p>\n<p><strong>Proceed<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Choose languages -&gt; <strong>Proceed<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Choose A1200 -&gt; <strong>Proceed<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Choose Paula. If you have any other soundcard check it. -&gt; <strong>Proceed<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Choose Yes -&gt; <strong>Proceed<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Proceed<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Proceed<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Poweroff and restart. &lt;- IMPORTANT<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Boot WILL fail<\/p>\n<p><em>ed S:Startup-Sequence<\/em><\/p>\n<p>At the LoadModule line.\u00a0 At the end, remove the <strong>FAST<\/strong> option<\/p>\n<p><strong>Reboot<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Now we have WB3.9 BB3 installed.<\/p>\n<p>Lets go for BB4 (Same here. WB39 CD is not required)<\/p>\n<p>Start \u201dInstall\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Proceed<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Proceed<\/strong> with install<\/p>\n<p><strong>Proceed<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Proceed<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Proceed<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Choose Languages -&gt; <strong>Proceed<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Choose A600\/A1200 -&gt; <strong>Proceed<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>YES<\/strong> at update scsi.device -&gt; <strong>Proceed<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Yes at edit S:Startup-Sequence -&gt; <strong>Proceed<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Proceed<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Proceed<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Start a shell.<\/p>\n<p><em>ed s:Startup-Sequence<\/em><\/p>\n<p>At top.\u00a0 Readd the BPPCFix line that was removed:<\/p>\n<p><em>BPPCFix install 040 &gt;NIL:<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Esc + x + enter<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Poweroff and restart<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Now we have a full setup with WB3.9BB4 and a new updated (and for BB3+ stable) system for 68060.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Lets go PPC \u2013 WarpUP51<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201dInstall WarpUP-HD Engl\u201d<\/p>\n<p>(I had to change in tooltypes to use C:Installer as tool)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Proceed<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Proceed<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Check \u201dBlizzard PPC A1200\u201d -&gt; <strong>Proceed<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Proceed<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Choose \u201dNo gfx card\u201d (EVEN if you have a BVision!) -&gt; <strong>Proceed<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>WarpOS V14 -&gt; <strong>Proceed<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Proceed<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Proceed<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Reboot<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Now your system is done for a clean BPPC setup without a BVision.<\/p>\n<p>BUT.. Sometimes I had problems with AHI. So just for test. Change the settings<\/p>\n<p>In prefs start AHI<\/p>\n<p>Choose Paula 8bit stereo. Not the Hifi one and save.<\/p>\n<p>This is if you have problems with AHI sound. You can test other settings<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>If you have the BVision card lets go on and install cybergraphx<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Mount the Cybergraphx CD. (remember CD-Rom mode)<\/p>\n<p>Start CGXV4_Install<\/p>\n<p><strong>Proceed<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Proceed<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Proceed<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Proceed<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>When to choose gfxcard, do NOT select anything just <strong>Proceed<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Choose 68040\/68060 -&gt; <strong>Proceed<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Let all be default so: <strong>Proceed<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Choose logo and <strong>Proceed<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Proceed<\/strong> to set env vars\u00a0 (Vars are what I recomend. (this is needed for the patch and you HAVE to mount it not copy to HD etc or you will get strange spatch errors)<\/p>\n<p>now the RC6 patchfile.<\/p>\n<p>Start CGXV4_Update<\/p>\n<p><strong>Proceed<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Proceed<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Proceed<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Proceed<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Now choose BlizzardVisionPPC -&gt; <strong>Proceed<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>68040 \/ 68060 -&gt; <strong>Proceed<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Choose libs -&gt; <strong>Proceed<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Install all -&gt; <strong>Proceed<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Choose prefs -&gt; <strong>Proceed<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Choose tools -&gt; <strong>Proceed<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Choose help -&gt; <strong>Proceed<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Choose prefs -&gt; <strong>Proceed<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Choose prefs -&gt; <strong>Proceed<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Proceed<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Proceed<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Now it is installed. But there are some strange things done that we have to fix<\/p>\n<p>First of all. There are no icon installed for the BVision monitor. Lets steal the Cybervision one.<\/p>\n<p>Start a shellprompt:<\/p>\n<p><em>copy cybergraphx_4:CGraphX4\/TIDrivers\/CVisionPPC.info devs:monitors\/BVisionPPC.info<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Now reboot. If your machine is hooked up on the BVision. It will end just showing the Cybergraphx logo and you have to switch to the Native amigamode<\/p>\n<p>Cancel the nPPC: question<\/p>\n<p>Goto sys\u00a0 Prefs and start Screenmode<\/p>\n<p>Choose a BVision screenmode and choose 256 colors. Test it. Save<\/p>\n<p>Picture now goes to BVision instead<\/p>\n<p>Now we have to fix the screenmodes missing<\/p>\n<p>To create one.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Sys prefs and CGXmode<\/p>\n<p>At monitor prefs, press edit, click continue at warning (a stupid one)<\/p>\n<p>I usually choose Montor-85KHz \u2013 modern monitors handles it.<\/p>\n<p>Use \u2013&gt; Continue<\/p>\n<p>Now click \u201dNew\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Choose 800&#215;600\u00a0\u00a0 as close as 60Hz you can. If there are a VESA choose it.<\/p>\n<p>(IF you have a CRT you want higher then 60Hz)<\/p>\n<p>Test -&gt; OK<\/p>\n<p>OK<\/p>\n<p>Click on the mode you created and press Clone<\/p>\n<p>Change type from 8Bit to 16bit<\/p>\n<p>Test -&gt; OK<\/p>\n<p>OK<\/p>\n<p>And clone that one. Change type from 8bit to 24bit<\/p>\n<p>Test -&gt; OK<\/p>\n<p>OK<\/p>\n<p>IF your screenmode is not ok.\u00a0 Try changing the pixelclock.. try to get the Vertical frequenzy as close to 60Hz as possible.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>You have now created a 800&#215;600 screenmode.. do the same thing for the rest modes you want to have<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>When finished.\u00a0 Press Save -&gt; Quit and reboot<\/p>\n<p>Now the nPPC: assign is no longer bugging you.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Now. Cybergraphx and stuff is all done.<\/p>\n<p>Maybe you want some Hardware 3D acceleration? (MiniGL not THAT modern.
